The rocker in the tip/tail makes it really easy. Its got a very smooth cruisingtype of personality that blends with a wide variety of riders and really defines the one board quiver ride well. One thing we would like to see is a little more pop through a little more camber or some other tech that can help this snap harder. Jibbing: Not a jib board and I wouldnt like to do anything other than a forgiving easy box. On Snow Feel: Feels like the wide version of the Standard I use to own. The base when waxed still has a great glide that holds its speed for a long ride. It powers through a hard turn well enough but doesnt have that ultra satisfying mostly camber carve either. Choosing between these for a first board. With a good set of bindings it will not pass up too much shock back to your feet if you have to go through Bumps or end of the day groomers with snow all sprayed around . Insoles: Footprint Insole Technology Gamechangers, Footprint Insole Technology Gamechangers Lite, Powder: The extra camber (almost all camber) and centered stance detract from its float from last year. Speed: Its no bomber but its got enough to handle big, steep wide open groomers and then slow down and butter around when it gets flat. It will be recommendable for a much wider range of riders than the previous years models. Uneven Terrain: For someone like me with size 9 boots on a 156 this sucked turning through bumps. Skidded Turns: Way easier than last year and you can loose a little control and skid your way out. Flex: Its a medium flex and it sits right in the middle of medium. Uneven Terrain: We actually like the Jones Mountain Twin better here with uneven terrain than the Jones Ultra Mountain Twin. Most YES boards have more camber and provide a more springy turn. This is no freeride board built for speed but its very good for its shape and riding style. The Jones Mountain Twin didnt out shine any of the other mostly rocker hybrid camber boards we tried but seemed to tie with them in terms of performance. There's no particular reason for this, just would like to try another board. It starts out in the smaller sizes (149-153) as a board that is best for size 8-10s. It increases edge hold and improves turn initiation for a board of a wider width underfoot. Its not an ice specialist but good in the conditions most find acceptable. Pipe:One of those boards thats forgiving, has solid edge hold and drives well from wall to wall. The Jones Frontier is a highly capable board that feels incredibly stable mid-turn and offers an average degree of edge hold. Switch: So even though the tail has less volumeit doesnt until after the effective edge so its a twin between the feet. Days: 3 but more to come. With a competitive price and up-to-date technology, this board is a strong top contender for every all-mountain/freestyle board out there.
